Exploring Water Resilience: Green Week 2024 Event “BE WATER our friends”

Planned on June 6th, 2024, at the Campus de El Carmen in Huelva the event titled “BE WATER our friends” has apployed to be under patronage of Green Week 2024. This event will be a profound exploration into water resilience. This gathering will bring together stakeholders from various sectors to delve into practical solutions and strategies.

Organized by University of Huelva and partners from the HEI4S3-RM consortium, the event is aimed to address the pressing challenges faced by post-mining regions, urban areas, and individuals regarding water management and resilience. The thematic sessions will provide a space for insightful discussions and presentations, showcasing innovative approaches and initiatives.

The event will commence with an introduction by representatives from the University of Huelva and PHENO HORIZON, setting the tone for the day’s agenda. Sessions will be structured to cover different aspects of water resilience:

  1. Water resilient mining industries: Insights from the University of Oviedo, Lapland University of Applied Sciences, Mining and Metallurgy Institute Bor, and THGA will shed light on strategies to enhance water resilience within mining operations.
  2. Water resilient cities: PHENO HORIZON and Volodymir Dahl East National Ukrainian University will share perspectives on urban water management, emphasizing the importance of sustainable practices in city planning and development.
  3. Water resilience from an individual’s perspective: The University of Oviedo and the University of Huelva will explore the role of individuals in fostering water resilience, highlighting the significance of community engagement and awareness.
